OASIS is happening on Wednesday evenings during July and August
for children and adults! The dates are: August 5 and 12,
and the time will be 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
OASIS for children will be offered for babies through 5th grade
(completed) with all the kids learning about Old Testament heroes in
age-appropriate ways.
*
2 - 4 year olds will be involved in "Fun, Fellowship and Follow" Activities,
including their own gardening and library times.
*
K - 5th graders will enjoy gardening, library time, and special guests teaching
great projects like woodworking, art and cooking.
Parents, please help us by pre-registering your children for OASIS and,
if possible, let us know which Wednesdays they will be away for family vacations
etc. You may sign up by calling Shirley or Pam in the church office, 678-6062 or

YOUR CHILDREN.
OASIS is also for all adults, especially for so many of you who lovingly
serve and minister among us throughout the school year. Each OASIS
experience will be unique so that you can be away on vacation and still be
blessed on Wednesday evenings when you are at home.
OASIS is designed for spiritual refreshment. Each time will include
fellowship, spiritual nutrition and exercise (no homework), and prayer. These
will be wonderful, sweet, encouraging gatherings centered around a unique theme
each time. The apostle Paul wrote in, "…Train yourself for godliness" (1
Timothy 4:7). In Greek the verb translated "train" is really great; it is "gumnazo".
The English word "gymnasium" comes from it and its basic meaning is "to
exercise". That is what OASIS is about for you, exercising for your
spiritual renewal and encouragement. So come to as many OASIS gatherings
as you can and be blessed! Here are the themes:
July 8 Spiritual Respiration "Pray continually" 1 Thess. 5:17.
July 22 The Exercise of Sharing Christ
"As the Father has sent me,
I am sending
you" John 20:21.
July 29 The Serving Exercise
"No servant is greater than his
master" John 13:16.
August 5 The Fasting Exercise
Jesus said, "And when you fast…"
Matt. 6:16
August 12 The Journaling Exercise
"Let…the meditation of my heart
be accept-
able in your sight, O LORD…" Ps. 19:14.
August 19 Fellowship Exercise All Wednesday night ministries come
together for a watermelon feed and celebration of what God has done this summer,
and AWANA REGISTRATION
(clubber's first AWANA meeting is August 26).
May God be pleased to keep the "God of This City" heart and mind set alive
in all of us as we live out Romans 12, offering ourselves to Him as living
sacrifices of worship, loving one another, and sharing the great gospel of
Christ with those around us-this summer and all the time!
