Andrea P. Dunbar

Membership/Contributions Secretary

I was born in Watertown, NY, but primarily raised in Florala, AL.  My Dad, Andrew Petritsis, was from Greece and my Mom, Mary Elizabeth, was from Florala.  I have two sisters. My oldest sister led me to the Lord when I was 6 yrs old, during Vacation Bible School in Jun of ’69.   Due to the nature of my Dad, we were not able to participate in Church or other related activities.

I graduated from Florala High School and attended Troy State University with a major in “Pre-Engineering”.  During my sophomore and junior year, I had to attend Air Force ROTC Field Training.  It was there I met Doug Dunbar.  To make a long story short, I transferred to Auburn after the summer ’83, we dated, fell in love, and were married in Dec ’85.  Doug was already commissioned in the AF and stationed at Los Angeles AFB, CA.  I graduated in Jun ’85 with my Aerospace Engineering degree, and was stationed out there with him.  We eventually moved to Niceville and decided to start a family.  Little did we know it would come by twos!

Ashley and Nick came into this world on Nov 17, 1993.  I then separated from the Air Force to be a full-time mommy.  To sum up the last eight years would take too long.  I will say that we have learned an incredible amount having two special needs children (they were diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome/Autism/ADHD in ’98).  We wouldn’t trade them for the world.

When the position came open for a Membership/Contributions secretary, I thought I would help out temporarily until they were able to hire on someone permanently.  As things worked out, I became the permanent Membership/Contributions Secretary.  It has been a blast (and still is!) to work here at RBBC.  It is such a pleasure to interface each day with the caliber of people that work here.  I always knew how blessed we were to have such a great church family, but it has just been magnified since I have been working here.  God has always placed us in spirit-filled churches, and to Him, we are eternally grateful.   Thank you for the opportunity to serve.
