• Marriages, friendships, and other relationships are strengthened and preserved, resulting in fewer divorces and a lower turnover of members, staff, and volunteers
• Peace and reconciliation reveal the health of our church, glorify Jesus Christ, enhance our witness, and stimulate church growth

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
QUESTION: Why have Peacemaker Life Groups?
ANSWER: We want everyone at RBBC to study the principles of biblical peacemaking in a small-group setting in addition to the Sunday morning preaching. We realize not everyone is in a Life Group already, so we want to encourage everyone to join a Life Group with only a commitment to meet for 9 meetings. Hopefully, you will desire to continue in a Life Group on an ongoing basis, once you try it.
QUESTION: I am already in a Life Group. Do I need to sign up for a Peacemaker Life Group?
ANSWER: The Elders desire all Life Groups to participate in this study. Those who are already in a Life Group can do the Peacemaker study in their current group or take this opportunity to get to know more people by signing up to join a new group. This would be a great opportunity for those with Life Group experience to branch out and host and/or facilitate one of the new Life Groups. All existing Life Group leaders should fill out a Host Home sign-up card indicating their participation and noting if they can handle new people. Existing Life Group members should also fill out a participant sign-up form noting your desire to participate in your existing Life Group or if you desire a new Life Group.
QUESTION: When do the Peacemaker Life Groups actually begin?
ANSWER: The study will begin Sunday, February 17. Life Groups normally meet on Sunday afternoon or evening. The first meeting will primarily be to get to know each other and plan the details for the remaining 8 sessions.
QUESTION: When will the Peacemaker Life Groups end?
ANSWER: The study should be finished by Sunday, May 4th. Although the study can be completed in 8 sessions, we have allowed extra Sundays for special days like Resurrection Sunday (March 23). We will celebrate completion of the study during the May 4 worship service. Each group can determine for themselves the best schedule to follow during that period. The final Life Group meeting should include some time to celebrate, fellowship, and plan if the group wants to keep going.
QUESTION: How do I sign up to be a Host?
ANSWER: Sign-up forms are available in the church foyer and the pew racks.
QUESTION: If I host, how many weeks will I need to open my home for the Life Group?
ANSWER: You may wish to host every Life Group meeting or your group may decide to rotate homes.
QUESTION: How do I sign up for a Life Group?
ANSWER:
Sign-up forms are available at the church website www.rockybayoubaptist.org and in the pews racks and the church foyer.QUESTION: How will I know what Life Group I’m in?
ANSWER: You will receive a phone call from a Host inviting you to their group. If you do not receive an invitation and you have filled out a participant form, call the church office at 678-6062.
QUESTION: How long will the Life Group session last each week?
ANSWER: The video is only 25 minutes long. The session should only be approximately 1 1/2 hours including prayer time, viewing the video, and discussion. The maximum length for each Life Group meeting should be 2 hours, including informal fellowship time.
QUESTION: What are we to do with our children?
ANSWER: Each Host Home/Life Group should make their own arrangements for child care. There are several options for those families with small children. Select which option will suit your small group best.
· Have everyone in the group be responsible for their own babysitter.
· Pool your money together and hire a baby sitter who can watch the kids in another room at the host home.
· Keep all the kids at another group member's house with a babysitter.
· Parents weekly rotate watching kids in another room.
· Swap childcare duties with another family whose group meets on a different day or time.
QUESTION: How will Life Group assignments be made?
ANSWER: During the month of January, the fellowship of RBBC will be asked to sign up to participate in the Peacemaking Life Groups. Based on certain information criteria, such as your ABF, your neighborhood, family size, etc., you will be assigned to a host home. Existing Life Groups will be kept together, if noted on the sign-up form.
