Carey was born, raised and graduated high school in Mobile, AL. While majoring in Electrical Engineering at the University of South Alabama in 1987, Carey surrendered to full-time ministry service.  Because God’s calling focused on equipping worshippers in the local church, Carey switched his major to music and completed a degree in Music Education. Carey then attended Southwestern Theological Seminary from 1991-1994 while pursuing a Master of Divinity with Music concentration.  In 1991 he married the love of life, Amy. Together they had thrice the blessing with the birth of triplets in 1998 (Blake, Tanner, and McKenna). Their family became complete when Corban was born in 2005.  Carey has served churches in AL, TX, TN and FL.  He came to Rocky Bayou Baptist in May of 2006.  Carey’s greatest passion is to develop “Discipled Worshipers” that they may fulfill John 4:23 and worship the Father in spirit and truth.
